About the photographer

I love photography. For me, it's all about challenging myself and learning all that I can. I've built up a small collection of cameras, which I use to keep my photography fresh and fun. I take pride in developing the film myself and producing my own prints out of my own darkroom.

To me, photography is about one's view of the world. When I go on a walk, a road trip, or even on my commute to work, I look at the world around me. I look for things that catch my eye: the way light falls on a subject, how people interact with their environment, the beauty of nature, and man's mark on this planet. When I see something, I imagine it on paper -- that's when I grab my camera. Between seeing something interesting and producing an image, I take several creative decisions and processes to get there, and that's what I love about photography.

Over the past several years, I have collected about a dozen cameras. I'd never buy a showpiece camera -- I've used every one (after all, taking pictures is a lot of the fun in owning a camera!). My cameras cover multiple formats, from 35mm through 8"x10". The oldest camera I use is roughly 60 years old. Keeping my eye out for new/interesting cameras is a side hobby and keeps photography fresh for me.

The rest of what there is to know about me can be seen in my photography. Take a look at the samples I've posted as well as the website links I've included.
